Blair 1819: comparison to Tyndale's version of the NT, 'The woodcuts to Revelation are similar to those of Tyndale, but larger in size and better executed. I suspect this copy was Henry the 8th's. W. B[lair].' (fl2v); obliterated provenance (o8v); notes on missing preliminary matter, 'Two imperfect copies are at ... for sale.' signed W. Blair April 1821; 'Two incomplete copies of the N.Test. by Tyndale in St. Paul's Cathedral have a great many of the identical woodcuts and initial letters in this vol. but the type of Tyndale's is much larger than this of 1538.' (sometimes identified with Garret Godfrey), displays the royal arms, with angels as supporters, on one side; on the other side is the Tudor rose, also with angels as supporters, and the shields of St George and the City of London. Similar, but distinct, bindings were issued by several other bindings.'
