ghae, ende dat het oude Testament heel uut ende te nieute si, ende dattet alleen niet dan voor
slechte geschiedenissen ende historien te verstaen en is, Niet teghenstaende dat ons Chri
stus gheheelick daer door bewesen ende belooft wort. Ende dat oude Testament is ons als die wendel-
doecken daer Cristus in gewonden leyt, ende daer wi hem oock in vinden sullen, also ons Christus ooc
selve betuycht, Joannis int .v. seggende, Ondersoect die scriftuere, want die selve geeft ghetuygenisse

ende int .xvij. des selven schrijft die Evangelist Lucas, dat die van Thessalonica daghelics ondersochten
die schriftuere, oft si also inhielt als Paulus predicte, ende dat is kenlijck, ende seker dat het die schriftuere
des ouden Testaments was, want dat nieuwe noch niet beschreven en was, ende dat nieuwe moste oock
door dat oude bevestiget worden, daer om sullen alle christen menschen dat oude Testament van geen
der minder weerden houden, dan dat nieuwe. Ende dat nieuwe Testament en is anders niet, dan een ver
vullinge des ouden Testaments, ende een clare vercondinge, ende predicatie, hoe dat die hoge beloften
des alderhoochsten, onser salichmakinghen, ons nu ghegheven zijn, ende dat door Christum, die
welcke ons vander ghenaden, ende goedertierenheyt des vaders in menigerley sproken des
ouden Testaments belooft was, Daerom salmen die heylighe schriftuere, beyde des
Ouden ende des nieuwen Testaments, houden ende hebben, voor dat alderhooch
ste heylichdom, ende aldercostelicste fonteyne ende meesten rijcdom, die nim
mermeer uut geput en mach worden, op dat ghi die Godlijcke wijsheyt
vinden moget, die welcke God ons inder schriftueren tot veel
plaetsen so slechtelijck voor leyt. Ende weet sekerlijck
ende vast, dat dit boec des ouden Testaments, een
vast wetboec is, dat welcke leert watmen
doen, ende laten sal. Ende dat nieuwe
Testament, een Evangelium
